I come from a community in Boston that is an amalgam of the African diaspora bounded by poverty, a desire to survive, and dreams of a better future. A unique and colorful culture lies in this community that heavily influences my work. I combine my passion for anthropology with my photography to highlight issues in my community, with the hopes of finding solutions.
I do not consider myself a photographer. Instead, I am a torchbearer carrying the flames of visual oration ignited in a different time, across vast oceans, on distant soil. I am a storyteller obsessed with presenting the world around me in its complete authenticity. I use photography to understand that world and myself better.
